David R. Hakas, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and completed his fellowship in nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology.

Dr. Hakas enjoys spending time with wife and children. He and his wife equally share in parenting and homeschooling for their children. Dr. Hakas loves animals and has many pets, including house rabbits, chickens, bees, and fish. He also enjoys computer programming, and has a special interest in medical informatics.
